Charlie delivered a mindset session for my netball club which has 500 member’s and coaches. The session focused on the will to win and pushing through your boundaries.

Charlie is one of the speakers I have used to take our teams to new limits. He is part of what we are achieving at Grangetown netball club demonstrated by this years results. Two age groups unbeaten all season, U16’s unbeaten in the best U21 league in country for the last two seasons. The premier team promoted to division one we are now in top 10 in country for senior netball and our U16’s top 3 in the country.

Charlie is a great speaker with lots of energy and enthusiasm. With his background in financial planning, he knows first-hand the challenges for advisers and also with building a business. When he realised what he wanted to create out of his life and his future, he went for it and now is a seasoned triathlon athlete and Iron Man, family man, reliable colleague and a great friend. He exudes the whole person concept better than most people I know. Having also recently taken his business through a succession process, he has personally lived out and been successful at overcoming most of the challenges advisers face. Charlie is reliable, genuine and he cares about the industry and the people within it, wanting everyone to build a better future for their clients, their teams and themselves and their families. I am pleased to report that many students would now like to complete an Iron man and our senior students have renewed energy for target setting, making sure those targets ‘scare them but don’t kill them’.

The talks worked on so many levels as he engaged with students from 12 – 18 years of age. It is wonderful to meet someone who lives their life with accountability and demonstrates a strong set of values which thread through business, personal goals, and family life.

Personally, I will take the statement ‘when you step out of your comfort zone is when the magic happens’ and endeavour to do so moving forward.

We will look forward to welcoming Charlie back to Quinton as the students are keen to catch up on his next adventure.

I was fortunate to attend Charlie’s session at the MDRT annual meeting. During his presentation Charlie shared many tips and strategies to develop our skills and knowledge.

Whether you want to be an athlete or top of your game, there were many transferable ideas to take away and put into practice in your life immediately.
Although I was attending a financial practitioners conference, these messages and strategies could easily be transferable to other businesses and professional individuals aiming to be the best they can be and win at life from all angles.
